I am Dr. Petya Randelova, PsyD, and I built Practical Resilience for people who want therapy that goes deeper than coping skills. Before launching my solo practice, I spent years in leadership at a group practice and served as Director of Training for four years. In that role, I trained and supported other clinicians in trauma-informed, relational care and high-quality clinical practice standards.
As a queer first-generation immigrant, affirming diverse identities and relationship structures is central to my practice, along with an ongoing commitment to continuous learning, professional growth, and staying current with emerging research and best practices.
My goal is to help you understand what shaped your patterns and build new ways of relating to yourself and others. Some of the most meaningful moments in therapy happen when you begin to see yourself with new clarity, and you start making choices that match what you actually need.
I often work with clients navigating interpersonal chaos, complex relationship dynamics, and the aftereffects of painful or confusing experiences. I provide affirming care for LGBTQIA+ clients and bring cultural responsiveness and systems awareness to the work.
You might be here because you are tired of managing everything on the outside while feeling stretched thin inside. You may be stuck in people-pleasing, overthinking, shutdown, or relationship loops that keep repeating even when you understand them. I offer depth-oriented, trauma-focused therapy that blends relational work with nervous system support, with EMDR available as part of treatment. This is not quick-fix, symptom-only work. We focus on patterns, protection, and lasting change.
